Thanks to the Internet, it has never been easier for people to become entrepreneurs that make their own money and aren’t tethered to a job.

To make your own income, you could always do things like invest in real estate, stocks, and bonds, but this typically requires a tremendous initial investment that most people don’t have.

Times are different now. You can work online and make passive income without investing tens of thousands of dollars or slaving away eight or more hours a day.

One of the best ways to do this is through affiliate marketing. Here are some stats for you:

There are certainly a lot of programs and courses out there that claim to teach you how to prosper with affiliate marketing. And then there’s Savage Affiliates.

Created a couple years ago by 7-figure marketer Franklin Hatchett, Savage Affiliates, now updated to version 2.0, walks you through everything you need to know to make a job-killing income online doing affiliate marketing.

A while back, I bought the first version of Frank’s course and went through the entire thing. Now that I’ve gone through version 2.0, I want to write an honest, comprehensive review of the course so you can answer these questions for yourself:

What does Savage Affiliates teach you?

Frank describes Savage Affiliates as the “step-by-step blueprint to creating a passive income online”.

He teaches you how to build an affiliate marketing business from the ground up. And unlike most other affiliate marketing courses, Frank teaches you how to prosper for the long term, not just a few months.

The course itself contains 10 video modules and several bonus modules. Each module contains many videos, usually 5-20, that go in depth into every step of the process.

The bonus content, in particular, is substantial, with nearly 50 total videos of educational material!

The main focus is taking you through building your website, choosing the best products to promote, and promoting those products through free and paid traffic methods. You also learn how to build standalone affiliate marketing funnels.

It’s all over-the-shoulder, and he holds nothing back, often sharing things that other insiders want to keep secret.

Frank continually updates the modules, rearranging them and adding new ones. At the time of writing, here’s what he teaches you:

Introduction

In this module, Frank introduces you to the fundamental concepts of affiliate marketing and internet marketing in general.

This includes the basic customer journey, how free and paid traffic work, and how search engine traffic works. He also shows you how to navigate the course within the Kajabi platform.

Module 1: Finding The Best Products To Promote

In this module, Frank talks about niches and what he thinks are the best affiliate programs for people to get into.

These are all programs that he’s had big success with in the past, some of them making him tens of thousands of dollars per month.

Module 2: Building Your Website

The fact is that a website is pretty much a must for any marketer or entrepreneur doing business online.

In this module, Frank takes you through the entire process of building a money-making website the right way. This includes choosing a domain name, setting up WordPress on a web host, installing the right plugins, and collecting email addresses on your website.

Module 3: All About ClickBank

This module is dedicated to ClickBank, which is one of the best affiliate marketplaces online.

It can seem like a daunting task trying to understand how ClickBank works and how to use it properly. Fortunately, Frank not only shows you everything you need to know about the marketplace, but he also shows you a couple of the best ways to promote products found within it.

A large part of this is showing you product examples and how to promote various ClickBank products through blog content.

Module 4: ClickFunnels & Websites

In this module, Frank shows you the best way to promote ClickFunnels products and make commissions through your website. He goes in-depth into finding keywords and properly structuring your articles.

Module 5: Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

In this module, Frank dives into the topic of search engine optimization. SEO can be a pretty intimidating beast, but Frank simplifies it as best he can.

He goes over both on-page and off-page (backlinks) SEO that will maximize your chances of ranking in Google and other search engines.

I learned a lot about SEO from Frank, and I definitely recommend you don’t skip this part of the course.

Module 6: Funnels & Email Automation

In the first part of this module, Frank explores sales funnels, one of the most powerful tools an affiliate marketer can have.

He shows you what a typical affiliate funnel consists of, different types of funnels, and how to create and manage funnels using ClickFunnels, which is his recommended funnel builder.

In the next part of the module (6-2), Frank goes through the ins and outs of email marketing and ties them into the concept of sales funnels.

He shows you how to set up email lists for success using his recommended email marketing platform (GetResponse), and then shows you how to integrate it with ClickFunnels.

Module 7: DFY Affiliate System

In this module, Frank hands you at least two complete done-for-you affiliate marketing product funnels.

These funnels promote certain ClickBank products and come with an opt-in page, lead magnet, graphics, ad copy, and an email sequence.

He shows you how to set everything up and start sending traffic with solo ads and other methods. You’ll need ClickFunnels to use his opt-in page, but if you don’t have it, you can emulate the design of the page on your own landing page builder.

You’re getting massive value here that many would sell for four figures. If this doesn’t fast-track you to results, I don’t know what will.

Module 8: Free Traffic

In this section, Frank goes over some of the best free traffic methods to use to get traffic to your offers. He shows you exactly how you can use these sources in your own online business.

You might know that Frank is quite successful on YouTube, so it’s not surprising that he talks a lot about YouTube in this section. He also talks about a few other free traffic methods that can be very powerful.

Module 9: Paid Traffic

In this section, Frank explores some of the best paid traffic sources online, and shows you how to succeed with them like he does in the free traffic section.

I don’t generally recommend paid traffic for beginner internet marketers, especially those who don’t have a lot of money to start. But when you do want to give paid traffic a go, this is the section to pay attention to.

Bonus Modules

Frank currently has four bonus sections within Savage Affiliates. In them, he shares his case studies and teaches more concepts, strategies and methods such as “launch jacking” and Amazon affiliate marketing.

Overall, the amount of material inside the course is just insane, and it’s going to take you some time to go through it all. If you want to go from newbie to affiliate marketing expert, best get started as soon as you can!

Before I get into the meat and potatoes of the review, how to navigate Savage Affiliates, what I like and don’t like about the course, I want to talk about a few success stories.

Frank has many students, and has helped hundreds of them start making real money online, including myself. These are people who have watched his videos, bought his courses, read his articles, and implemented what he teaches.

The video player is easy to use, with volume, playback, speed (0.5x-2x) and quality control, and the ability to go full screen.

You can keep track of your progress in the course by marking each video as “completed”. Any links or information will be underneath the video.

That’s pretty much all there is to know. It’s very simple to log in and start taking the course.

If you’re a beginner, I recommend taking the course in the order that it’s presented to minimize any confusion. More experienced marketers can skip to certain modules as they please.

What I Like About Savage Affiliates

Here are the things I like most about Savage Affiliates:

1. It gives you the big picture of affiliate marketing.

Unlike other online courses, Savage Affiliates doesn’t just focus on one narrow subject like YouTube, Facebook ads, or SEO.

It covers everything and gives you the A-Z big picture, so you can become a successful self-employed person that makes money year after year and adapts to a changing internet landscape.

Frank made this course keeping in mind beginners who know nothing about online marketing, but it’s great for online marketers of all skill levels because of the sheer amount of information inside.

2. The stuff Frank teaches works.

Frank makes seven figures a year online for a reason. He knows what he’s talking about, and the stuff that he teaches works. Just look at the case studies and ask many of his students.

In other words, what Frank teaches isn’t untested garbage like you often find with other biz opp products.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that you’ll start making money overnight. It takes time and consistent effort to be successful, and Frank helps you get into this mindset.

By the way, he knows a lot – not only about online marketing, but also about other industries like e-commerce. It continues to impress me how much this guy knows.

3. It’s kept up to date.

One of my biggest pet peeves with MMO products is that many of them become obsolete within a few months, sometimes within a few weeks. The product creators just leave them to die and move onto their next product.

I don’t believe in this, and neither does Frank.

He released version 1.0 of Savage Affiliates a few years ago already knowing that he would update it in the future. He spent many months working on version 2.0, and there’s no question that it’s better.

Because Savage Affiliates is updated, you’re always going to be able to get the most relevant training and methods for the industry – the things that are working right now.

This is not to mention the fact that you’re always going to be kept up to speed with changes and developments in the Facebook group.

4. It’s in over-the-shoulder video format.

Not to criticize written courses, but I know a lot of you guys don’t like to read, and would rather just sit back and watch a video.

With Savage Affiliates, you’re in luck: the entire course is in video format.

Frank takes you over the shoulder as he works with tools, sets things up, and gives you visuals of important concepts. This way, you can get a good idea of what running an online business actually feels like.

If you want your hand to be held through the process, you get that with Savage Affiliates. You couldn’t ask for much more.

What I Don’t Like About Savage Affiliates

1. The organization is a bit messy.

One of the drawbacks of having so much content is that it’s difficult to organize it in a logical way.

While Frank makes an effort in this regard, I still found the organization of the material to be a bit messy, with concepts taught in other modules thrown into previous modules. For beginners, this could be quite confusing.

If you’re a beginner and you run into something that you don’t understand, I recommend that you just continue with the course. More will become clear to you as you go through it.

2. There are some factual errors.

Frank makes a few factual errors in the course. These are generally minor and not a big deal, but they are there nonetheless.

As an example, he repeatedly defines ClickBank gravity as the number of affiliates that have made at least one sale of a product in the past 30 days. It turns out that isn’t quite correct. This number is taken into account, but it’s not the only factor involved in the gravity calculation.

There are a few other little mistakes he makes, but it’s really inevitable when you cover so much material.

3. Some videos are long-winded.

I feel like some of the videos drag on way longer than they need to. These videos often run for more than 15 minutes, and it gets difficult not to get bored and lose focus.

This is in large part due to the fact that Frank often figures things out (such as how to promote products) on the fly rather than preparing beforehand.

Savage Affiliates Pricing

Price is a big concern for people, and rightly so. You want to know if you’re getting your money’s worth.

Of course, you can’t expect a course that has this much material and that takes you from zero to hero is going to cost $7, right?

Anyways, the pricing is simple. Savage Affiliates has two different pricing options: Standard and Super.

Standard Option ($197)

The Standard Plan currently costs $197.

It comes with all of the course content (niche research, website setup, email marketing, Amazon affiliate training, funnel training, traffic, etc.) except the ClickFunnels training, launch jacking training, and web hosting training.

It also comes with weekly videos, Q&A sessions, and lifetime updates.

Super Option ($297)

The Super Plan currently costs $297.

It comes with everything from the Standard option plus:

• ClickFunnels training (many videos)
• launch jacking training
• web hosting training
• multiple ClickFunnels done-for-you funnels
• Frank’s secret DFY affiliate marketing funnel

Both are one-time payments and allow you access to lifetime updates of the product. This means that if and when new versions of SA come out, you’ll get access to them for free.

The pricing is currently 60% off the normal prices of $497 and $697, but other than that, no discounts or coupons are available.

What I Recommend

I bought the Super version of SA myself, but what package would I recommend to you?

Well, it depends on what you want out of the course. If you think you can live without the extras included in the Super plan like the DFY funnels, you might as well get the Standard version.

The ClickFunnels affiliate program isn’t quite as lucrative as it once was. However, the launch jacking and web hosting methods he teaches are very powerful. As for the DFY funnels, they can be a great help to newbies and put you on the fast track to making money.

I think it would be really beneficial for you to take the training.

Think about the long-term; once you make the purchase, you’re going to be getting lifetime updates to the product for free. Is the extra $100 worth years of making money online?

Frequently Asked Questions

In this section, I’m going to cover the most common questions that I get regarding Savage Affiliates:

Does Savage Affiliates have a money-back guarantee?

Yes. It’s a 30-day money-back guarantee, but you have to have made an effort to apply the training methods before requesting a refund.

In other words, you can’t just buy the product and refund it a day later. This product is for serious people.

How does Savage Affiliates compare with Wealthy Affiliate?

I was actually a member of Wealthy Affiliate way back in the day, so I feel like I’m qualified to answer this question.

Wealthy Affiliate was started back in 2005 by two Canadian guys named Kyle and Carson (I’m Canadian as well, what do you know!?).

It’s basically a membership site that teaches you how to build an online business by building up an affiliate website. They also offer website hosting. When I was a member, they had tutorial courses and an active community.

While I learned a lot there, I ended up leaving Wealthy Affiliate because I no longer felt that my monthly membership fee was justified.

All in all, I think that Savage Affiliates is definitely the better investment. Here are the two main reasons why:

Reason 1: Scope

With Savage Affiliates, you’re not just learning how to rank a website in Google (which is by far the main focus of WA).

You’re learning everything – building and ranking a website, building funnels and sending free and paid traffic to them, and other strategies.

Because of this, you won’t become a one-trick pony. You’ll see the big picture, and it’s going to make you all the more resilient as an online businessperson moving forward.

By the way, when I was with WA, they didn’t even teach you about backlinks.

Reason 2: Price

Savage Affiliates is only a one-time payment with lifetime updates, unlike Wealthy Affiliate which is $49/month. In the long run, this will really add up and become expensive.

And with Savage Affiliates, you’re also getting access to an active community on Facebook so you can stay informed about the industry.

Once you take the training inside WA, there’s not much reason to stay on as a member unless you want to host your website with them. Even then, you’re better off going with a host like SiteGround.

In my view, there’s no need to waste your time with Wealthy Affiliate. Everything you learn in there you can learn in Savage Affiliates, plus a whole lot more.

How does Savage Affiliates compare with eCom Elites?

eCom Elites is one of Franklin Hatchett’s courses that teaches you how to build an online business with ecommerce – more specifically, dropshipping.

While he put just as much effort into eCom Elites as he did into Savage Affiliates, these courses cover different business models, so it’s difficult to compare them.

The eCom Elites course has a similar structure to SA, with video modules walking you through everything you need to know.

If you’re reading this, I assume you’re interested in affiliate marketing rather than e-commerce. In that case, there’s no need to look into eCom Elites. But if you want to check it out, you can go here.

Let me just tell you something: I dabbled in e-commerce back in the day, but I ditched it because I felt like it wasn’t for me. It can be very stressful because you’re dealing with suppliers, logistics, and you need a lot of up-front capital for paid advertising.

E-commerce can be very lucrative if you do it right, but in my opinion, affiliate marketing is better for beginners who are strapped for cash, not to mention the income is more passive.

How does version 2.0 differ from version 1.0?

The original version of Savage Affiliates (1.0) was released many years ago, and while it was really great at the time, the industry has changed a little bit since then.

Savage Affiliates 2.0 has much of the same content, but it offers an up-to-date take on affiliate marketing with the latest scoops and techniques. On top of that, Frank has added some brand new material related to ClickFunnels, web hosting promotions, and launch jacking.

Most of the videos in the course are new with better audio and video, but a few videos are recycled from version 1.0. It doesn’t matter though, because I don’t even think you can buy access to 1.0 anymore. And why would you want to?

Does Savage Affiliates have an affiliate program?

Frank has made an affiliate program for Savage Affiliates available in the past, but as far as I know, it’s currently closed to new applicants. He has shut it down before because of affiliates breaking the rules.

How To Succeed With Savage Affiliates

Taking a course with one thing, but getting results out of it is a whole other thing entirely.

The first thing I suggest you do, especially if you’re a beginner to affiliate marketing, is to take the whole course.

It’s going to take some time because there’s so much material, but just work through it at a slow and steady pace. Understand what he teaches and how it all fits together.

Then, pick a method that you like best and run with it. This is what Frank recommends. Don’t get sidetracked and distracted by “shiny objects”.

For example, do you like the idea of building affiliate websites, ranking in Google, and building passive income that way? This is one of my favourite strategies personally.

Do you want to dive into creating funnels (landing pages, email sequences, etc.) and send paid traffic to them? This is another legitimate option that can make you a full-time income.

Maybe you want to collect email addresses on your website and do email marketing too.

Develop a strategy for making the income that you want to make, and take action. One of the best ways to succeed is to treat this like a job – expect to put in consistent effort on a daily basis, and don’t expect to see results tomorrow or even next week.

If you run into an obstacle, figure it out and keep on going. If you need help, ask questions in the Facebook group; Frank helps people out there, and there are also many experienced marketers there who can give you advice.

You’re building a long-term business that’s going to pay you year after year, and so you should treat it like one. Trust me, it’ll be worth it in the end.
